Cell tower workers already have one of the most dangerous jobs in America. They climb hundreds of feet into the air to perform maintenance and upgrades for wireless carriers. 33 cell tower workers have died on the job in the last five years alone.
In Alexander County, North Carolina, a woman decided to fire a gun at three men working on what looks like a 300′ guyed tower with two cellular tenants. At the time the woman fired the shots two workers were over 100 feet up working on the tower, completely exposed. A third worker on the ground ran and called 911.
The police arrived to the scene where they arrested Susan Moose and charged Ms. Moose for assault with a deadly weapon. The 911 call transcript shows a terrifying situation for the cell tower workers.
When deputies arrived to the scene Ms. Moose was armed with two axes and had barricaded herself inside her home, right across the street from the cell tower.
Ms. Moose had previously called the deputies to state she had heard voices from the tower and they were sending signals.
Luckily none of the workers were hit by the gunfire.
There are some crazy people out there. Stay safe & healthy!
