Melody Wireless Acquires 900+ Buyouts From Wireless Capital Partners

By Nick G. Foster

January 30, 2015

Melody Wireless Infrastructure, an affiliate of Melody Capital Partners, LP, announced this week that it acquired over 900 lease buyouts from Wireless Capital Partners (“WCP”). The acquisition almost doubled the size of Melody’s portfolio to over 2,000 locations. The price of the transaction was not disclosed however we would estimate that the transaction is valued in excess of $180,000,000.

How Does This Transaction Affect You?

If you previously sold your cell tower lease to WCP there is the potential that the agreement you signed with WCP has since changed hands. You may or may not receive a notice of an assignment, it all depends on the language in your buyout agreement.

If you have not sold your cell tower lease but are considering selling your sell tower lease, make sure you hire expert cell tower lease consultants such as Airwave Advisors to review your offer. Unsolicited offers are significantly below market and the best way for you to secure the highest purchase price for your transaction is to have an experienced landlord advocate in your corner.
